Not only aesthetically pleasing, each kit comes equipped with hardware, vibra-mounts and CNC machined brackets that are tig welded to each intake for a perfect show-quality fit every time. Each cold air intake is then put to the test against our leading competition and to this day we have yet to be outperformed... and we have the test results to prove it! From the project GTI page: Golf / GTI Cold Air Intake Before we got our supercharger we had the opportunity to test fit an air intake by Injen for fitment on the new model year. Injen Cold Air Intake Took about 2 hours to install. We did have to remove the front bumper and drivers side headlight, but that isn`t hard at all. We used a Stant Oil Filter Cap #11072 to plug the air pump hole, since it wasn`t used. The cap is rubber and seats tight, so no air leak. We can defiantly tell a difference in throttle response and our dyno had us pegged at 181hp. We used the RD3020 with a black finish. Injen has not rated this intake as fitting the new 02-03 VR6 24 valve engines, but we think it fit great. This intake also is stamped as CARB Approved for the earlier models. Well the dyno is in, we gained a maximum of 10.2 hp and 8.8 torque. The intake has been removed. (Special Note: A Stant Oil Filter Cap #11072 works nicely to plug the air pump hole, if it is not used.)
